Terms of sale & returns

The plain-English version of how buying a building from a small yard works: everything is made to order, you pay the configured price through Stripe, delivery is quoted once we have seen the gate, and your statutory rights stay exactly where the law puts them.

01

Who you are dealing with

These terms cover every sauna, soak tub, cold plunge, kit and accessory you buy from Wildyard, whether you pay through this website or agree an order with us by email. Wildyard trades from 37 Wilson Court, Trumpington, Cambridge, CB9 2GU. There is no warehouse and no showroom; buildings are made to order and travel straight from the workshop to your kerb.

You can reach us at sales@wildyard.co.uk, on 07436 441534, or on WhatsApp at the same number. When we say “in writing” we mean email or WhatsApp.

By placing an order you agree to these terms. Please read them before you pay. If anything is unclear, ask first; we would rather answer a question than argue about a paragraph.

02

Everything is made to order

We do not hold stock. When you order, timber is cut, a heater is bought and a building is made to the specification you chose. That is why the prices on this site are for a specific configuration and why we cannot treat an order like a parcel that can be sent back.

The photographs and drawings on the site show buildings we have made or supplied; timber colour, grain and knots will vary and small changes in fittings happen between batches. Dimensions are nominal and given to help you plan a base. If a measurement matters to the millimetre, ask and we will confirm it before you order.

03

Ordering and your contract with us

You can order on a product page by building your specification and pressing Buy, which takes you to Stripe Checkout, or by agreeing a specification and price with us in writing and paying the way we confirm.

A contract is formed when we confirm your order in writing after payment. We check every order by hand before that: the specification, your postcode, and whether what you have chosen makes sense together. If we cannot deliver to your address, if there is a pricing mistake on the site, or if the configuration will not work, we will tell you and refund you in full. Nothing is cut until we have confirmed.

04

Prices and payment

Prices are in pounds sterling and are the price of the building as it leaves the yard, with every uplift you chose listed. When you buy on the site you pay the full configured price at Checkout, in one payment, through Stripe. Card details go to Stripe and never touch our systems.

Delivery and siting are not included in the Checkout price. They are quoted separately once we have seen your access, confirmed in writing, and paid before transport is booked. See Arrival & siting for how that works.

If you order by email rather than through the site, we confirm the total and how to pay in writing before production starts. Production does not begin until we have been paid.

05

Lead times

Lead times are typically 4–14 weeks, depending on the building, counted from the day we confirm your order. Each product page shows a typical lead time for that building. Heaters from a particular maker, unusual glazing and busy spring months can stretch it; we will tell you when we confirm and keep you informed if anything moves.

A lead time is our best estimate, not a guaranteed date. We will always do our best to hit it, but we are not liable for losses caused by a delay in making or delivering a building, for example a landscaper booked for a date that then slips.

06

Changing your order

If you want to change something after ordering, write to us immediately. Changes are possible until production of the relevant part begins. Some changes cost more, some cost less; we will tell you the difference and agree it in writing before we go ahead. Once timber is cut or a heater has been ordered to your specification, that part of the build is fixed.

07

Cancellations, returns and refunds

Because every building is made to your specification, there is no change-of-mind cancellation or refund once production has started. Your payment has become timber, a heater and workshop hours that cannot be sold to someone else. This is the honest reason, and it is also why we check every order before we begin.

If you need to cancel before production starts, tell us in writing as soon as you can. We will refund what you have paid, less any cost we have already committed on your behalf and cannot recover, such as a heater ordered specially. We will show you what that cost is.

Made-to-order goods and goods made to a consumer’s specification are excluded from the usual fourteen-day cancellation right for goods bought at a distance under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, which is why the paragraphs above apply to configured buildings. Where you have bought a standard accessory that is not made to order, you may cancel within fourteen days of receiving it and return it to us at your cost, unused and in its packaging, for a refund.

None of this removes your right to a repair, replacement or refund if something we sell you is faulty or not as described. That is covered below.

08

Delivery, access and the base

We deliver country-wide, to gardens across the UK, kerbside as standard, with your postcode confirmed before you order. Our full delivery policy is on the Arrival & siting page and forms part of these terms. In short:

  • Hot tubs and cold plunges are offloaded at the kerb; moving them into place is your responsibility and usually takes four or five people.
  • Assembled saunas and suites need a crane or forklift, which you arrange, or which we can arrange for you for a fee.
  • Kits arrive crated on a pallet to the kerb or nearest hard standing.
  • A level, load-bearing base must be ready before transport is booked. If it is not, or if access is not as described to us, the building may have to be taken away and any second delivery is charged at cost.
  • Responsibility for the building passes to you once it is offloaded at the kerb or nearest safe point. Damage caused during lifting, carrying or positioning by you or your contractors, or by an unsuitable base, is not covered by us.

Someone over eighteen must be present to receive and sign for the delivery. Electrical connection, planning permission and any building regulations approval are your responsibility; we will provide dimensions, weights and heater specifications to help.

09

Damage in transit and missing parts

Please look the building or crate over before you sign for it. Note anything obvious on the delivery paperwork, then send us photographs the same day. For kits, check the panel list against the crate within seven days and tell us about anything missing.

Where damage has happened on the way to you, we will repair it, supply replacement parts, or in a serious case replace the building, at our cost. Telling us quickly with photographs is what lets us claim against the haulier, so please do not wait until the crane firm has left.

10

Faults, warranty and your statutory rights

Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 what we sell you must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described. If it is not, you are entitled to a repair, replacement or, in some cases, a refund. Nothing in these terms takes those rights away.

On top of that, Wildyard gives a 3-year structural warranty on the timber structure of every building: the shell, frame, walls, floor and roof structure. It runs for three years from delivery and covers defects in materials and workmanship. It depends on the building having been sited level on a suitable base, kept oiled on the outside as we describe, and used for what it was made for. It does not cover natural movement, checking and colour change in timber, wear to finishes, or damage from neglect, flood, fire, frost in an undrained tub, or moving the building after siting.

Wood stoves, electric heaters, chillers, pumps, filters, lighting and other fitted equipment carry their maker’s warranty, which we pass on to you and help you claim against. Consumable parts such as stones, seals, liners and covers wear with use and are not covered beyond faults present at delivery.

To make a claim, write to sales@wildyard.co.uk with your order details, photographs and a description of the problem. We will reply within a few working days and agree what happens next.

11

Using and looking after the building

Wood-burning stoves, hot water and cold water all carry risks. Follow the instructions we send with the building and those from the heater maker: keep children supervised, keep the area around a stove and flue clear, drain a tub that will stand in frost, and do not use a sauna or tub under the influence of alcohol or if a doctor has advised against it. Timber needs oiling once a year and a tub needs its water looked after; the Journal explains how. We are not responsible for damage or injury caused by ignoring this guidance.

12

Our liability

We are responsible for losses you suffer that are a foreseeable result of our breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care and skill. We are not responsible for losses that were not foreseeable, for business losses, or for costs arising from delay, access problems, or work done by contractors you have engaged.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law does not allow us to exclude, and nothing here limits your statutory rights as a consumer.

13

Complaints, law and changes

If something has gone wrong, write to sales@wildyard.co.uk and we will try to sort it out directly and quickly. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and disputes may be brought in the courts of England and Wales, or in your local courts if you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland.

We may update these terms from time to time. The version that applies to your order is the one on the site when you placed it. This version was last updated in September 2026.
